What is ARTscape?
ARTscape
is a powerful new intellectual tool that uses the Peabody Essex
Museum’s objects as a launching point for a user’s
self-guided journey through art and culture. Data in ARTscape
includes photos and descriptions of objects in PEM’s collection,
definitions, book excerpts, quotations, video clips, and audio
clips.
Exploring ARTscape Themes
Selecting a link in the “Themes” column at left
will open an ARTscape window populated with images of objects
related to the chosen theme. Objects featured in the themed
sets will appear in the orange “Bookmarks” zone
in the ARTscape browser. Clicking on an image in that
bar will populate the “Selection” zone with additional
data about that object, including a larger photo. You
can explore your selections in greater detail by clicking the
“View Record” button located beneath the object
image.
ARTscape™ requires the free Flash
6 player.
